Creativity

Creativity time and again comes out as one of the top skills for the 21st century.

As we continue to grapple with the effects and impact of a global pandemic, social injustice and climate change we need even more creativity, now.
During the pandemic I ran a creative project called #plenty2share as a way to connect people, share my studio content and brighten up someones day with a surprise snail mail delight.
As we moved through the first half of the year I sought out unusual zoom spaces, showing up to learn, listen and answer my question on how I/we move from in-room to zoom. My practices for workshops was experiential, benign the room with clients and groups was part of the work. My thinking has gone through several iterations, there has been great comfort in being. I’ve done some testing. Time is past due for action and doing. I’ve begun thinking about workshops with stuff and how the digital frees me up from this. I’ve lived with the question what is the opportunity we are missing in all this.
Where people traditionally went to fill their senses, spark their imagination and joy , dip their toe creatively those spaces are changed, disrupted. Some no longer accessible; live music, festivals, theaters, cinemas, events for socialising, play, community and work those places no longer exist in the traditional sense. The disruption of our creative outlets continues. Our arts, events and social industries are decimated, disrupted, different.
Covid19 feels reductionist, it has to be, it shrinks our approach to our freedoms. It’s a highly infectious virus, it spreads easy we have to do what we can to stop it. As different parts of the world reach shocking death tolls, infection rates and lockdowns, our public health is a global indicator of our social and economic resilience. A global recession is following. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost jobs, their work and all that brings with it. Old systems, paradigms will continue to die.
10 years ago my thesis was everyone is creative and I can prove it.
I’ve long held the belief that if there was more creativity in the world we’d have more new ideas and increased innovation. If we had more creative expression and more emotional outlets we would have less stress. With more innovation and less stress humankind would be happier and more fulfilled.
As a futurist I’ve walked through scenario setting with clients. Covid19 has jettisoned us forward almost a decade. Its the fast forward button.
So yes we need creativity, connection and courage to figure how to navigate our new world and how to connect to the emergent future, now.
So that’s my invitation, an immersive zoom space where we will step into flow, connect, spark the imagination and imagine 6 impossible things before breakfast.

I’m offering 3 global events, in 3 different time zones, find one that suits you to attend or come to all three! I explain more about that on Linkedin. If you’d like to get in touch to explore a 1:1 or where 6 impossible things can support your team, business, organisation or community fill out the contact form or find me on on social channels like twitter or insta where I hangout as @creativedynamix and @bdtconsultancy

I look forward to meeting you at one of the events!
