I’ve been working in the background to make sense of the work that needs doing. I’ve really examined a structure that builds capacity and capability and I’m testing it right now with a client.
It’s going well.
Deep listening, bold thinking through applied practice, coaching and mentoring. I’m no longer delivering just a service or once off workshops but opening labs with clients fed up with surface level fixes. Two labs to be specific – futures and community engagement.
One of my aha!S because a lab is a two way street, possibly for the first time last week I articulated that when we hold space we are actually attending to regulating everyone’s nervous system along with getting work done. The lab work is in the context of community engagement, I’ve identified 8 themes and with that business we are navigating a project, 1:1 mentoring and a whole business culture and mindset shift. The team is already achieving better collaboration and the contextualisation of the work has deepened.
In my experience when I’ve attended to relationship and that micro-social piece at the beginning of a meeting or workshop the work flows and gets done more easily. If you’ve have experienced my ‘everyone meet everyone’ methodology you’ll remember that prosocial hit and energy high. The momentum builds forward into the work. If you were in enterprise meetings with me as a project manager you’d also have experienced that check-in.
How we think and care about these relationships between us, it matters.
work moves at the speed of trust

This is not just about sustainability, in this uncertain world, our ability to show up and work together is critical.
So, what are you trying to make sense of right now?
