2023, my word for the year

Ah yeah, sure it’s January what are you deciding, committing too, planning… yada yada yada

My 2023 word, present 🎁 which choose me

Years ago when I was part of a gaggle of bloggers, we all choose words for the year rather than made resolutions. It’s a lovely tradition and this year a word has made its presence known and it’s almost picked me rather thank the other way around.

This word primarily is about being present. In my choosing where to bring my energy, my focus & whom I share my attention with. The being in the now. Consciously choosing being present.

Finding my gift of how I help humanity step into the doughnut – IMMA Earth Rising Eco Arts Festival October 2022

Present, is also about the gift I bring to the world. This will be a significant theme for me and others. At the IDEN Movement Lab at IMMA’s Earth Rising Festival, I had several significant moments. One was during the first Step in to the Doughnut Workshop with Rob Shorter. The third question “…share with the other person a gift you bring that could help humanity get into the Doughnut” threw me a bit, it surprised me that I could not answer easily. Before we brought the Movement Lab to a close that weekend I did have an epiphany about helping humanity get into the doughnut. Having delivered Step into the Doughnut, I know the gift question has thrown a few others & I’m looking forward to the conversation that support others & uncover their own gifts.

Here’s Rob & I at the end of the IDEN Movement Lab, which we co-envisioned and delivered at IMMA Eco Art Festival, October 2022.

The word present is also about these words for me ~ show up, deliver, share, calm, concentrated, just, grounded, showcase, facilitate, simplicity, open, collaborate, nurture, boundaries…

I’ll keep adding words to my drawing of the word, that’s my doodle at the top of the post. Let’s see where this word takes and guides me this year.
