Yesterday one of our sons was post watching as he is expecting something. In fact the four other family members are all expecting something in the post but due to Brexit all the projected delivery dates are up in the air. Much to his chagrin he brought me an A5 envelop with a UK stamp on it.

To my startled amazement this beautiful card and gift arrived.
A reciprocity response of my #plenty2share project.
If you have n’t been following me, I ran a COVID art & mental health project in 2020 as a way to connect people, combat the fear & unknown of the Covid19 global pandemic. It was called plenty and #plenty2share
The card is wonderful, A5 in size a square of bike tubing stitched on to textured card. They look like little stars and oh! my the crochet on the stone.

a bicycle tubing recycled to create a wondrous card
So much of this return gift appeals to my soul.
Initially I had no idea who had sent me this, I thought about who I sent #plent2share to in the UK, I purposefully did not keep names and addresses of nominees or nominators because of GDPR, data privacy is a thing for me. The purpose of the information was purely to send a piece of art to brighten someones day. They person seemed to know my love of the sea and adventures in textiles – it was signed from Natalie, I don’t know any one by that name. It was a a response to an artist prompt.
Intrigued, I searched my email, nothing.
I searched my Twitter, nothing.
I turned to Instagram nope.
Hmm I must know this person, by another name…
My instinct about whom it might be proved correct. Thankfully I’d not recycled the envelope and the clue of an Edinburgh address revealed one of several women I know whom uses an avatar or stage name.
Natalie, I love it! All of it & yes I agree its never too late, ever. I also hope we get to meet and go splashing in the waves too.
Lets have more of that lovely connection, sharing & adventures in textiles.
