Doughnut Economics Action Lab otherwise know as #DEAL go discover it, join it and read amazing stories about scaling to cities, local and national planetary boundaries and meeting the our social needs. I’m DEAL member 280.

The Irish action which I began by simply suggesting a cuppa and a chat has blossomed into a weekly cuppa, a book cub and a our growing network is influencing others into action. That’s how I find myself catalyzing an Irish Doughnut Economics Network affectionately know as #IDEN since October.

YES, I designed the logo, it was not my favourite one but its the one that got the most votes. Brad and I have been working on the Wiki, we hope others will join in soon. It seems like a core group has just formed when i ask for volunteers they said yes. We are practicing the principles of DEAL and its code of practice.

It’s fascinating to watch DEAL in action. Someone in London reached out to get advice for their first meeting. Emails, Whatsapp, texts, voice messages and chats are quick and supportive. We find the help we need, those of us that don’t wait for permission are in action. I speak to Amsterdam, London speaks to me, San Francisco sends me a tweet. I supported London to shaping their first meeting and then was asked to help facilitate it. No bother London’s call answered. After the first DEAL Webinar I’m adding Cambridge to my conversations. Connections ripple.

Our network grows because people outside of Ireland tell them Ireland is in action, and we are. We are deepening and sharing our knowledge, building connections, getting to know each other.
