6 seconds of calm

My attention was drawn to the simple beauty of this moment.

Reflection on domesticity in Covid19 lockdown

The light catching a white towel on the washing line. A gentle breeze dancing with shadows.

Something that has probably happened at the washing line for years but in our new slowed down reality I have time. I have time to sit with my youngest son at the kitchen table and chat, look around, not in any rush. Despite mounting chores and housework, they wait, some of them wait still…

In the moment I can notice, my mindfulness practice permeate my day. Covid19 has slowed everything down. Time seems to have a new meaning. Perhaps domesticity has a new meaning for me also.

In the moments of noticing beauty I connect and fall in love again.
